S.A.V.E.  ME!

At  Lincoln School in New Jersey, USA, lots of kids wear a special blue ribbon. They are members of S.A.V.E. – Students Against Violence Everywhere.

But members of S.A.V.E. do more than wear ribbons! S.A.V.E. members learn to be mediators*. They try to sop violence during recreation and at school sports matches. When two pupils are having a dispute, a teacher can send them to the principal’s office. Or, the kids can go to see a S.A.V.E. mediator; They all discuss the problem. Te mediator can help them find a non-violent solution.

S.A.V.E. kids also write letters to important people in their community: sports stars, politicians, etc. The letters ask the people to work against violence. The kids send sblue ribbons with all their letters.

S.A.V.E. members from Lincoln School have a question to Take it Easy’s readers: Why not start a S.A.V.E. club in your school, too?
